Canada Day 2026 Highlights
What a wonderful day of celebrating Canada and community!
On July 1, residents and visitors gathered at Stan Darling Park to enjoy an afternoon filled with live entertainment, family activities, great food, and time spent with family, friends, and neighbours. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate what makes our community so special.
The Village of Burk's Falls Council was proud to host the annual Canada Day Community BBQ, bringing everyone together to enjoy a free meal and celebrate our country.
As the sun set, the celebration concluded with an outstanding fireworks display, proudly presented by the Village of Burk's Falls, the Township of Armour, and the Township of Ryerson, and safely set off and overseen by the Burk's Falls and District Fire Department.
A heartfelt thank you to our performers, volunteers, municipal staff, Council members, community partners, and everyone who joined us for the celebration. Events like these are only possible because of the incredible support and dedication of so many people.
The Village of Burk's Falls would also like to acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada, whose funding helped make this celebration possible.

Public Works Reminder: Dogs and Recreation Areas
The Public Works Department would like to remind residents that dogs are not permitted inside the Knight Brother's Field of Dreams Ball Diamond.
The ball diamond is a rented recreation facility that is used for community programs, practices, games, tournaments, and special events. Before each booking, Public Works staff prepare and groom the playing surface. When dogs enter the diamond, the surface can become damaged, requiring additional maintenance and increasing costs to the Village.
Residents are also reminded that, under By-Law No. 08-2017, dogs are not permitted to be off leash on any municipal property, with the exception of the Village's designated Dog Park.
The good news is that the fenced Dog Park is located just a short walk from the ball diamond and provides a safe place for dogs to run and play off leash.
Thank you for respecting our recreation facilities and helping us keep them safe, clean, and ready for everyone to enjoy.
